Faith is a Relationship
Everything we do in Children’s Ministry is to help children grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ and each other. Relationship building needs to be nurtured with intentional time:
- Learning the Bible
- Worshiping God
- Serving others
- Creating a fun community
"Then he took a little child and put it among them; and taking it in his arms, he said to them, 'Whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me, and whoever welcomes me welcomes not me but the one who sent me.'" Mark 9:36-37
"If any of you put a stumbling block before one of these little ones who believe in me, it would be better for you if a great millstone were fastened around your neck and you were drowned in the depth of the sea." Matthew 18:6
Because we believe that Jesus taught us to care for His children and youth, we commit our church to the practice of safe supervision. A Safe Sanctuary policy sets standards for the supervision of the children, youth, and vulnerable adults in our care. Thus, in covenant with all United Methodist congregations, we have adopted policies for the prevention of neglect and abuse.
Therefore, as a Christian community of faith and a United Methodist congregation, we pledge to conduct the ministry of the gospel in ways that assure the safety and spiritual growth of all children, youth, and vulnerable adults and those who minister to them.
