POST ELECTION CONVERSATIONS:

Dear Church Family,
The long-anticipated Election Day has come and gone. For many this season of waiting and results has been intense. Many might now be sensing some relief. And others may be feeling disappointment or frustration. Joey & I want to acknowledge that we realize that our national politics do affect our daily lives: mentally, physically, spiritually, and emotionally. Therefore, we would like to offer support and encouragement.

First, we hope you know that we are always available to meet with each of you one on one to discuss anything. And now is no different. Please feel free to make an appointment with either Joey, jreed@colliervilleumc.org, or with me, dsuddarth@colliervilleumc.org, at any point.

Second, we would like to determine whether a time for group discussion might be helpful, where we would explore how to process these feelings as Christians. This would not be a time to discuss specific political views but rather an opportunity to reconnect with the teachings of Jesus that call us to empathy, peace, and understanding. This space would offer a moment of calm and allow each of us to reflect on the unchanging hope and unity we have as Children of God. If you would like to participate in a group discussion, please send me an email, dsuddarth@colliervilleumc.org, or let me know in the halls on Wednesdays or Sundays.

Our one desire is to help us see every season of our lives through the lens of being a Child of God; strengthen our bonds a community of faith; and continue to walk faithfully in our mission and vision for Jesus Christ.

Hope & Peace!
Dr. Deborah Suddarth,
Senior Pastor
